Friday April 5th was the last day of classes at UBC and the usual celebrations from the students started early. The Beta were at it by 9:00am. A little more than twenty four hours later the Birds Braves and Totems were hosting the Vancouver Rowing Club.

The Birds ran onto the field at 2:30pm and pretty well quit running at 2:31pm. The Birds embarrassed themselves on the day and went down 20-17 to The jubilant Rowers.

Birds grounded by the Vikes with a 39-17 Victory.

University of Victoria down the Thunderbirds 39-17 at Wolfson field this past Good Friday. The Vikes crossed six times to the Birds three. The game was a lot closer than the score as the Vikes capitalized on a couple of  costly errant passes which saw the Vikes waltz into the in goal from 50 and 80 metres.

Birds will host the Bears, Sunday March 24 at Thunderbirds Stadium 1:00pm Kickoff

The UBC Thunderbirds will host the University of California Golden Bears this upcoming Sunday at Thunderbird Stadium with a 1:00pm kickoff and a chance to erase a 10 point margin Cal holds with their 28-18 victory at home last February. The Bears are undefeated this season and I am sure that a win will be first and foremost as far as the Birds are concerned.  Come on out and support the Thunderbirds as this will be great contest and a great display of university rugby. Both teams have been doing it for over 100 years!
