Teams
UBC fields three teams (sometimes four) during the season. The Birds are the varsity team with the Braves as the first reserve team and the Totems being the second reserve team. All three teams play each Saturday. The Totems are primarily a freshman team for the first half of the season, September to November.
Selection
The Birds or varsity team is usually made up of older players who have been with the program for awhile, usually 3rd, 4th and 5th year players, but that does not mean that a first year or second year athlete would not be able to play for the varsity team, In the past we have had some outstanding 1st and 2nd year athlete's who have played for the varsity team. Selection is based on merit.
