From the Manager's Desk - September 21, 2014

With our first two weekend fixtures now completed and the Sevens Event set for Western Washington for the weekend of September 27th-28th, we can look forward to the new season with a great deal of optimism. We were very competitive against Capilano despite having three payers away with the BC Bears and another four varsity players recovering from injury. We should have everyone available for the CDI Premier League opener at Castaway Wanderers on October 4th.

We are aware that we will lose players to injury throughout the course of the season as well as having players called up for selection to the Rugby Canada U20 Program, Sevens events and the U18 Tour to Romania.

Our Coaches are aware that moving up to the CDI will test the depth of the Program and have done an outstanding job in preparing all the players for pre-season and the start of the CDI campaign.

While our opening home game in the CDI will be against Rowers on October 18th, it is difficult not to look beyond that to the fixture the following week against the University of Victoria. The game will double up as the first Boot Game as well as our home CDI fixture against the Vikes. We will be letting all our alumni know more details about this game and will also be adding information on the site about our supporter gear through our kit sponsor Kukri.

Finally, congratulations to Jorden Sandover-Best, Brock Staller and Bryan Tyrer on their selection to the BC Bears senior men's provincial program this year and to Harjun Gill and Karsten Leitner on their selection to the initial Canada U 20 Camp in October.
