The women’s program is under the guidance of former national team player Maria Gallo. Dr. Gallo was named Canada West Coach of the year for 2013-2014, her first year on the job. Since Gallo took over the program the women’s team has seen improvements in their training both on and off the field. In 2013-2014 the Thunderbirds finished 4th in CIS West competition and finished in the top 8 at the National University 7s.

With a strong veteran core and new recruits entering the program UBC Women’s Rugby is on the rise.
